1. Under normal driving conditions, check the brake shoe every 5000 kilometers, not only check the remaining thickness, but also check the wear condition of the shoe, whether the degree of wear on both sides is the same, whether the return position is free, and find abnormal conditions must be immediately handled.

2. The brake shoe is generally composed of two parts: the iron lining plate and the friction material. You should not replace the shoe until the friction material is worn out. For example, the front brake shoe of jetta is 14mm thick in the new film, while the maximum thickness of replacement is 7mm, including more than 3mm of iron liner thickness and nearly 4mm of friction material thickness. Some vehicles have brake shoe alarm function, once reached the limit of wear, the meter will alarm prompt replacement shoe. Shoes that reach the limit of use must be replaced, even if they can be used for a period of time, will reduce the effect of braking, affecting the safety of driving.

3. During replacement, the brake pads provided by the original spare parts shall be replaced. Only in this way can the braking effect between the brake pads and the brake discs be the best and wear be the least.

4. When changing the shoe piece, the brake sub-pump must be jacked back with a special tool. Do not use other crowbars to press back, which will easily cause the guide screw of the brake pliers to bend and cause the brake pad to get stuck.

5 after the replacement, must step on the foot of the brake, to eliminate the gap between the shoe and the brake disc, resulting in the first foot no brake, prone to accidents.

6. After the replacement of the brake shoe, the best braking effect can be achieved only by running 200 kilometers. The newly changed shoe must be driven carefully

How to replace brake pads:

1. Loosen the handbrake and loosen the hub screw of the wheel that needs to change the brake. Jack up the car. Then remove the tire. Before moving brake, had better use special brake cleaner fluid to spray in brake system, avoid powder to enter respiratory tract, affect health.

Remove the screws from the brake calipers (in some cars, just take one off and loosen the other)

3. Rope the brake calipers to avoid damage to the brake line. Then remove the old brake pads.

4. Use c-type clamps to push the brake piston back to the center. (note that before this step, lift the hood and unscrew the lid of the brake fluid box, as the level of the brake fluid will rise as the piston is pushed up). Install the new brake pads.

5. Install the brake caliper back and turn the caliper screw to the required torque. Put the tire back on and tighten the hub screws slightly.

6. Put down the jack and tighten the hub screw thoroughly.

7. Because in the process of changing the brake pad, we push the brake piston to the innermost part, and it will be very empty when we first hit the brake. Step on a few consecutive after good.
